PRIVACY POLICY We, at Custodian Underwriting Agency, are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This Privacy Policy describes our current policies and practices in relation to the handling and use of personal information. What Information Do We Collect And How Do We Use It? We collect information to ensure that we are correctly assessing a risk and can provide insurance. This information may need to be passed onto our underwriters and re-insurers. When a claim is made under the policy, to enable us to assess the claim, we and our representatives (including loss adjusters, investigators, lawyers and accountants) collect information about the claim, some of which may be personal information. The information that we collect from our insured or third parties may then be given to those we have appointed to assist us in giving consideration to the claim. Again this information may be passed on to our underwriters and re-insurers. Your personal information may be used internally to help us improve our services and help resolve any problems. What If You Don’t Provide Some Information To Us? The Insured is required, by Law, to provide us with all the relevant information so that we can determine if we are able to provide an insurance quotation and on what basis this quotation would be provided. Insurance cover and claims assessment can only be given if we have collected all the relevant information. Cover cannot be given unless we have this information. How Do We Hold And Protect Your Information? We take all reasonable steps to protect the information that has been provided. It is stored in secured premises on and password protected electronic databases. Will We Disclose The Information We Collect To Anyone? In the event of a claim we may need to provide information to third parties for example a lawyer for the purpose of defending you, or an assessor for the purpose of assessing your claim. Information may also be provided to others in the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganisation, dissolution or similar event. Or similarly if required by law. This information will be provided on a confidential basis and we will do our best to ensure that they protect the information in the same manner we do. We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information to others. How Can You Check, Update Or Change The Information We Are Holding? We will gladly disclose to you the personal information we hold about you, provided you are able to properly identify yourself to us. We will also correct or delete any information that we agree is inaccurate.
